Fernandez, an exemplary Sprint
Saturday at Mugello was a special day for Raul Fernandez, the absolute protagonist of the Sprint. The Spaniard was able to make the most of the potential of his Aprilia, imposing a pace from the early stages that none of his rivals could match and securing his first victory in a short MotoGP race.
The Spaniard’s triumph, in addition to confirming the rider’s growth and Aprilia’s great moment, is also very important from a market perspective, because Fernandez currently does not have a seat for 2027 despite being fifth in the riders’ standings. Fernandez then commented on the winning bet of the medium rear tire, while everyone else (except Jorge Martin, not coincidentally second) opted for the soft: “I tried the strategy we had planned and I was convinced of. The soft pushed me a lot at the front, and that’s why it didn’t convince me“.
