MotoGP, Martin towards Misano
Jorge Martin arrives at Misano with the feeling that it could be a key weekend. In the Aragón GP, the Aprilia rider achieved two solid results, losing points to Marc Marquez, but now is the time to step up if he wants to hope to defend the World Championship lead.

Misano lends itself to this purpose, because here Aprilia could be more competitive, while the Spaniard has two Sprint wins and one Sunday GP win in Romagna. However, Martin does not believe he is the favorite even on the Riviera.
Martin’s words
“Surely MotorLand was not a very simple track, this instead is a track that has given me great satisfaction in the past. Aprilia won here with Marco last year, but Marc also won here: the level will always be very high here at Misano, everyone is very fast“, this was Martin’s comment at the MotoGP press conference. “But I think I am prepared. We are ready, we can fight up front. Surely the fight is still very long because many races are missing, but it seems that I, Marquez and Bezzecchi are a bit ahead. I don’t always feel 100% yet, there are tracks where I feel very good and others where I struggle. I have to start well from Friday to continue fighting for this championship, but I feel that some of the tracks coming up are very good for me“.

“I don’t feel I have the speed to fight for the win every weekend, I feel I still have to improve and so I don’t feel like a favorite. I will try to keep working to reach the speed of Marquez and Bezzecchi, because I seem to be slightly behind them. I lose those 3-4 tenths on some occasions that mean I am not yet at 100%, I have to find that speed to fight with them and win the title. I think both are very strong, Marc won in Aragón scaring everyone, with a big difference compared to what I was able to give, while Marco has his home race“, he added.
The San Marino Grand Prix could become a crucial turning point in the title race, which for Martin will be important especially from a mental point of view. Regardless of the points haul he will collect, Martin will be in the championship fight: with two podiums in the last six GPs and only one Sunday win in 2026, returning to victory will give him the ideal boost for the final part of the calendar.
