Devastating Le Mans for Ferrari
Toyota has returned to winning at Le Mans and the double points guaranteed by the most prestigious 24-hour race in the world have allowed the Japanese manufacturer to take off in the standings. The winners behind the wheel of #7 – De Vries, Kobayashi, and Conway – have reached 75 points, Toyota even 132. Ferrari has reached 62, while the defending champions of #51 are 36 points behind the leaders.

Unlike Toyota, for Ferrari there was no way to be competitive at Le Mans. Technical director Ferdinando Cannizzo nevertheless praised the spirit of sacrifice and grit of all the men in red who achieved a more than respectable top-5 given the situation.

“We lost the race, but we showed that we are a team and that is the most important thing – the words of Ferdinando Cannizzo – we knew from the start that it was very difficult, almost impossible to be competitive. Unfortunately, after the first laps, it was very clear. We continued until the end with dignity and respecting the value of the Prancing Horse, which is the most important thing for us. Ferrari is this team, and I hope we will have the opportunity to show what we can do. The championship is not over yet, even if after this race it will be a very difficult challenge.”
