Interlagos Test for the 499P
After the 24 Hours of Le Mans won by Toyota, the WEC World Championship is set to hold the fourth round of the 2026 calendar in Brazil at the Interlagos circuit.

In the Drivers’ standings, Toyota #7 leads with 75 points, second place goes to BMW #20 with 71. The first of the Ferrari is #51 at -36. In the Constructors’ standings, it has 132 points against BMW’s 96 and Ferrari’s 62. Below are the words of Antonello Coletta and Ferdinando Cannizzo ahead of the Interlagos event.
Antonello Coletta: “We arrive in Brazil for the fourth round of the championship after the 24 Hours of Le Mans which, unlike previous editions, did not bring us the same satisfaction. Now it is time to look ahead and face the 6 Hours of São Paulo with the goal, as usual, of doing our best on a challenging track that features altitude changes and a particular technical layout, where in the past we have recorded mixed results with the 499P. In a race that traditionally brings a lot of passion for the Prancing Horse, with an enthusiastic crowd that makes the weekend atmosphere unique, we aim to score as many points as possible to keep the challenge for the World Championship titles for Constructors and Drivers open“.
Ferdinando Cannizzo: “We arrive in Brazil leaving behind a difficult Le Mans race, but also very useful from a technical point of view for many improvement insights. Interlagos is a technical and demanding circuit, with frequent slope changes and a sequence of corners that requires a car with a wide balance window, effective in traction and capable of managing tires well. In past years it has not been an easy track for us, which is why we worked carefully right after Le Mans to review the car setup, also in light of the new tires, with the goal of arriving competitive from the free practice sessions and maximizing the test sessions precisely to best prepare Qualifying and especially the race. The championship situation requires us to be concrete. We cannot afford mistakes and we will have to maximize every opportunity.”
