Bugatti W16 Mistral, new one-off debut

Another one-off was born from Bugatti’s Sur Mesure program. It is the W16 Mistral “Le Retour du Jeune Prince,” a unique roadster inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Little Prince. The project transforms into an automotive gesture the idea of return and wonder, translating into form and details the poetics of a symbolic tale. The French hypercar, designed to amaze both at rest and in motion, concentrates in every element the will to pay tribute to the light and fantasy that run through the famous work.

The bodywork sports a dedicated color scheme, achieved by combining copper and bronze tones to reach a warm shine and a truly metallic finish. The livery recalls the atmosphere of moonlight: the surfaces react quickly to light sources depending on the angle, precisely highlighting the shapes of the W16 Mistral. Even the front signature is consistent with this language: the grille features a gold-finished profile, while its internal lines seem to follow the upward flow of the hood, guiding the gaze toward the front profile of the car. Coordinated details complete the ensemble, such as the copper brake calipers and the “EB” emblems positioned at the center of each wheel, adding brilliance and character.

A unique roadster

In the side view, a series of silver stars crosses the door, continues along the rear wheel arch, and reaches the area above the headlights, creating a visual path that connects the volumes of the car. Another “scene” is then reserved for action: the depiction of the famous meeting between the prince and the fox is revealed when the airbrake is activated, transforming mechanics into storytelling. The cabin reprises the theme with two shades of leather, Terre d’Or and Driftwood, and with stars present up to the hand-stitched headrests and the center console, where constellation-inspired details integrate into a brown carbon fiber weave. Closing the circle is the silver rose on the gear lever, a 3D scan of a real flower rendered in miniature.
