Italy that wins
The first great dream of Marco Bezzecchi has come true: the rider from Rimini on Sunday indulged in the incredible pleasure of finally winning at Mugello, in MotoGP, on an Italian bike and in front of an adoring crowd that celebrated this triumph as it happened in the golden years of Valentino Rossi. Among the fans who cheered for Bez’s victory, there was one very special: Andrea Kimi Antonelli, leader of the Formula 1 World Championship with Mercedes and a great personal friend of Bezzecchi, with whom he is forming a special duo that has brought Italian motorsport on two and four wheels to unexplored heights in these first months of 2026.

Don’t break his balls…
During the chat with Italian journalists following the press conference, Bezzecchi was asked for a comment precisely on the relationship that binds him to the other superstar of Italian motorsport and Bez did not shy away from the answer, also giving a funny jab to the Italian press: “It was wonderful to have Kimi with me – commented the winner of the Italian GP – in the last three years we have grown closer. Even before he made his Formula 1 debut we were already friends, but lately we have gotten very close and we even spent some time together a while ago. We ate together with some of my other friends, it was wonderful. For me it is a pride to have him first and foremost as a friend, because he is a very nice, fantastic guy. And then he is an Italian star that we all must cheer for and above all you must not break his balls.”

The idea of the two-seater
We then tried to ask Bezzecchi if he would like one day to replicate the experience already done by Valentino Rossi and Lewis Hamilton some years ago, when the two super champions swapped their respective seats, with the Doctor driving an F1 and Hamilton riding a MotoGP. This was Bez’s answer: “I would obviously love to drive a Formula 1 – Bezzecchi said to FormulaPassion.it’s question – but I think I’m quite bad. But it would be fantastic to be able to take Kimi one day maybe on a two-seater MotoGP. And I would like to do the same with F1. That is, I would prefer to get in an F1 car but with him driving, to really understand what it feels like and likewise I would like him to get in with me to make him understand how it is. In the future it would be fantastic to do”.
