The Ferrari simulator is still being talked about
In the interview with journalists following Charles Leclerc’s British Grand Prix victory, Lewis Hamilton had said that Ferrari had decided to reject the path suggested by the simulator for Silverstone, after his observations. The Englishman then emphasized how Leclerc had also followed his direction, abandoning the setup indications coming from the machine located in Maranello.

Hamilton and his aversion
Since the Montreal weekend, Lewis Hamilton had explained that he had decided to no longer use the simulator, blaming it for having led him astray in Miami.
In the Thursday interviews at Spa-Francorchamps, Hamilton reiterated that he had remained firm in his position: “No, I have never used the simulator again after Canada. Did not using it help me? Enormously. I tried it all last year. But as I said, in the early years at Mercedes I didn’t use it. As it evolved, at some point I started using it.”
The seven-time world champion then emphasized: “I have been driving simulators since 1997. They can be really powerful and useful tools, but also misleading. I found that, especially last year, this was the case. And in previous years at Mercedes I had similar feelings and that’s exactly why I didn’t use it. Since I stopped, my performance has improved a lot.”

Leclerc continues to use it
Instead, Charles Leclerc is continuing to work with the simulator, as he confirmed in a press conference in Belgium: “In recent days I have tried to understand why we did much better than expected at Silverstone, to try to reproduce that result more often in the future. What did I learn after returning to the simulator? The reason I felt comfortable was that at Silverstone I already knew what I had changed and what made me feel better. In terms of overall performance, there are still some things to explore. We need a few more laps to try some things.”
