Back in Europe
Almost a month after the last world championship round in the United States, the MotoGP World Championship will finally make its return this weekend to the circuit of Jerez de la Frontera, in what will be the first European event of the season. A race that comes at a rather positive moment for the team VR46, but also and especially for its rider Fabio Di Giannantonio.

‘Diggia’ flies
In the first three GPs of the championship, the Roman rider collected two podiums in Brazil, as well as a pole position on the same ‘Ayrton Senna’ circuit. A best qualifying performance that the #49 also repeated in Texas, with the 27-year-old occupying fourth position in the world standings: “We’re back in Europe, we’re going to Jerez! It’s a track we all know very well and it will be very interesting to return to the Old Continent – he commented – it used to be said that the World Championship started in Europe, but for us, the season has already started very well. We are going strong, it’s a good moment both with the team and with the bike. These days at home we have worked to try and find a way to better exploit the front to stop the bike and turn tighter, and to have an even better package for the races. The goal is to continue having the same feelings from the start of the season that allow me to go fast“.

Morbidelli’s goals
A track also much appreciated by ‘Diggia”s teammate, Franco Morbidelli, who will try to redeem himself after a more challenging start to the championship. Despite having finished in the points in all races, the Italian-Brazilian did not go beyond 8th place obtained in Thailand, with the #21 currently in 13th position: “We’re back in Jerez, one of my favorite weekends of the season. I really like the track, as well as the atmosphere and the crowd. Last year we did well on this track, the speed was good. In the race I made a mistake and crashed, but the speed was there. We hope to find the same rhythm this year too. We need to arrive in Jerez in better shape, but in these first three races we have collected a lot of data and information that we have been able to work on during this month-long break”.
