Everything still to be evaluated
The meeting scheduled for Monday, April 20, between technicians, team principals, FOM, and FIA will be decisive in making changes to the new technical regulations introduced this year, with a subsequent final online vote that will validate the changes starting from the next GP in Miami. However, these variations cannot be best evaluated on track in both the United States and Canada, at least according to Racing Bulls team principal Alan Permane.

The Sprints scheduled
The biggest obstacle for the British engineer, in fact, will be the format of both North American weekends, which include Sprint races: “Several proposals have been put forward – he explained – I believe that we will have a particular problem with Miami, being a sprint, because there is really little time to test anything“. In April, in fact, no GP has taken place (nor will it) in F1, due to the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian tests from the calendar because of the war in the Middle East.

Everything postponed to Barcelona
With the return to Miami, the Circus will then move to Canada, but once again with only one free practice session scheduled due to another Sprint race. An opportunity to more easily test the introduced novelties will only occur in Spain, from June 12 to 14: “It could very well be that some of the changes are tested in Miami, let’s say, a bit simpler and less risky – Permane added – and then experiment with others in Montreal and finally, of course, in Monaco, where it’s almost impossible to test anything. So Barcelona could be the first opportunity where some of the more challenging changes will be tested“.
