Smart #2 approaches debut

Visually, the new Smart #2 will present a strong resemblance to the old Fortwo. In general, it should maintain its compact proportions, with the main novelties including headlights with a more aggressive design and more rounded rear light clusters. Autocar points out that it will be the smallest electric vehicle on sale, with an appearance more similar to quadricycles like the Fiat Topolino and the Microlino than to larger models like the Dacia Spring and the Fiat 500e.

Range and charging

According to the latest rumors, the new #2 will have a turning radius of only 6.95 meters, an 80 HP motor, and a lithium iron phosphate battery pack with an as-yet unidentified capacity. The car will weigh about 1,130 kg, thanks to its length of only 2.75 meters. As for electric efficiency, Smart has already confirmed that its new two-seater will ensure a range of 300 km and will be able to charge the battery from 10% to 80% in less than 20 minutes. It will also integrate the V2L function, meaning the battery can be used to power external devices.
