Williams attempts recovery

This is the case for Williams, which began the season amidst delays and many difficulties, aspects that were then seen on track, with a car that is too heavy.

The Grove team is the ninth force on track, ahead only of Cadillac and the even more disappointing Aston Martin. A start well below expectations, especially considering that the team had set its growth by looking ahead to the regulatory changes planned for 2026, in the hope of closing the gap with rivals. Despite the poor start, Alex Albon sees positive margins for development: Williams will bring a significant update package to Miami, which could relaunch the team’s seasonal ambitions and reverse a trend that has been negative so far.

We will be in the factory every week and work a lot in the simulator. If everything goes according to plan, in Miami we will race with less weight“.

According to what filters from the paddock, the FW48 must undergo a major “diet”: Williams is reportedly over 20 kg above the minimum limit.
