The new ID.3 Neo is ready for its debut. Volkswagen announces the world launch in mid-April of the successor to the popular ID.3, which will arrive on the market with an updated name and a series of technological innovations. The first models to benefit from the new software are already available for order: ID.4, ID.5 and ID.7 can be equipped with the described functions and the innovative Innovision infotainment system. The latter introduces an In‑Car Shop with an integrated app store, which allows downloading and activating apps for audio, video streaming, parking, charging and even gaming, just like on a smartphone. In addition, the German manufacturer now offers the digital key as an option on all ID. models. Access via smartphone or smartwatch simplifies daily use without requiring a dedicated app, while new buttons on the steering wheel improve ergonomics and the intuitiveness of function control.
V2L Technology
Another important innovation is the Vehicle‑to‑Load function. Thanks to the new generation of software, all new ID. models can power external devices directly from the high-voltage battery, with a power output of up to 3,6 kW. This means being able to use an electric grill, recharge an e‑bike or power small appliances via a 230 V socket in the passenger compartment and, via the appropriate adapter, also through the Mode 3 charging socket. This capability significantly expands the flexibility of vehicle use, enhancing the function as support for both leisure time and daily activities that require external energy.

Updated engine and battery
The update also involves the engine and battery to improve efficiency and range. The base ID.4 and ID.5 Pure models adopt the new 140 kW (190 CV) APP 350 drive system, which increases torque and reduces consumption compared to the APP 310, allowing, for example, an increase in range of up to 40 km (WLTP) on the ID.4. In combination with the new 58 kWh net high-voltage LFP battery, the package aims to offer robustness, efficiency and lower operating costs. Volkswagen emphasizes that software and hardware have been designed to comply with emerging regulations such as Euro 7, the Californian ZEV3 standard and the EU GSR2 directive, ensuring that future ID. models, including the upcoming ID. Polo and ID. Cross, can offer greater safety, performance and flexibility in everyday life.
