The HRC project moves forward
The future is already here. MotoGP has just started the 2026 season, but the minds of the teams’ technicians and engineers have long been focused on what will happen next year, with a new technical revolution that will force all teams to change their bikes and start from a blank sheet. Honda has moved ahead and published on its official social channels the footage taken during the first track outing of the 2027 bike, the RC214V 850cc. The test, which saw HRC test rider Taka Nakagami take to the track, actually dates back to last December and took place at the Malaysian track of Sepang.

According to what was reported by Motorsport.com colleague German Garcia Casanova, until the official Barcelona tests, scheduled for May 18, Aleix Espargaró will continue the development of the 2026 RC213V, while Nakagami will focus on the development of the new bike for 2027. From June onwards, however, the focus of the entire team will shift to the 2027 bike. “The first impression is that the bike is super light – Nakagami is heard saying in the video immediately after returning to the pits – I was surprised, even in these conditions. Yes, it’s really nice“.
