The big day, the one on which a vote will actually be held to decide whether or not to approve some regulatory adjustments, will be April 20. Meanwhile, however, negotiations do not stop: on April 9, the first of a series of meetings convened by the FIA took place, involving technical experts from the teams and engine manufacturers. From this online meeting, however, only a generic “commitment to make changes to energy management“.
Last chance for the drivers
In all of this, however, the drivers also want to have their say, as GPDA president Alexander Wurz had already highlighted. Before the April 20 vote in the presence of the team principals, therefore, the FIA intends to discuss the results of the last technical meeting with the drivers. This consultation will also logically take place online, given the absence of race weekends.

This will perhaps be the greatest opportunity for the drivers to make their positions felt, assuming there is a united front not so much on the changes to be made, but rather on how to make them. Verstappen, Norris and company will thus have an important opportunity to express their concerns and propose their own changes to the regulations.
