Ferrari continues to strongly support the Luce project. The first 100% electric car from the Maranello house has sparked discussion since day one after its debut. Criticism has poured in, both for the unconventional design of the model and for the company’s decision to move away from its traditional gasoline engines. But the choice has now been made, and it seems that Ferrari is facing a strong interest in its new electric model from both new and existing customers.
Strong interest in Ferrari Luce
Words from Benedetto Vigna, CEO of Ferrari, who explained: “There is strong interest in the new Luce, also from new customers. We have already received bank transfers, the customers who were present (about 1,600, ed.) want it“. If this is true, it would be a nice response for the Prancing Horse, which has nevertheless announced that it will provide precise figures on orders in July, on the occasion of the publication of the second quarter results.
Vigna and the price issue
Vigna himself stated that critics should see the car before judging it, and rejected insinuations that the Luce is a copy of other electric vehicles on the market, including Chinese ones. “If you see it and try it, you will immediately understand that it is not a copy and that it has nothing in common with other electric vehicles you have seen and that are produced by other rivals, in terms of interiors, exteriors and performance,” his words reported by Reuters. The CEO of the Maranello house emphasized that Luce is an addition to the Ferrari range and that the company will continue to offer models with gasoline and hybrid engines. As for the price, about 550,000 euros, Vigna argues that it is “right to pay for innovation“.
