There was still an unknown hanging over the Mugello weekend for Marc Marquez. The reigning world champion was yesterday judged fit by the doctors to take part in this morning’s FP1, after which he was to be reassessed.

This ‘check’ took place at lunchtime and was positive: the reigning world champion will therefore be able to continue his Italian weekend regularly and will start both the Sprint tomorrow and the GP on Sunday, thus trying to ‘defend’ the double victory achieved in 2025.

Marquez, we recall, had fractured the fifth metatarsal of his right foot during the Le Mans Sprint and subsequently underwent a double operation on his right foot and shoulder, in the latter case to remove a screw that was touching the radial nerve of his arm. Due to this operation, the Spanish champion missed his home GP in Barcelona.
