The light of Miami
During the long break that started after the end of the Japanese GP, the general dissatisfaction of Max Verstappen was such that the four-time world champion had even thought about retiring from Formula 1. A level of competitiveness from Red Bull that had definitely disappointed the Dutchman, who however smiled again during the Sprint qualifying of the Miami Grand Prix.

Convincing progress
Author of the 5th place ahead of Russell’s Mercedes and behind Leclerc’s Ferrari, Verstappen seemed happier with the progress made by the Milton Keynes team, although these still do not allow #3 to fight for pole position. Demonstrating the greater serenity of the 28-year-old were his words, who nevertheless highlighted the aspects that still need to be perfected:

“We have taken a step forward – he commented to the official F1 channel – we are definitely still working on many things, but it was a really positive step for us. In the last races we were more than a second behind, while now we have halved the gap and this is positive. We are still very weak in the first sector, which is mostly high speed, so we know we have to work on that. Otherwise, everything seemed a bit more compact, also regarding the car, and we are very happy about this.”
