Several drivers have highlighted that it is only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs as a result of slow-motion starts, but at the moment there is no major news. As reported by the publication The-Race.com the FIA, in fact, has rejected the request of some teams who would have liked to see the battery charging limit increased on the formation lap because it was felt that increasing the limit would only have created other potential problems with drivers who could still have triggered accidents with erratic acceleration and braking during the formation lap.

This decision was also made in light of the necessary resistance opposed in particular by Ferrari to the FIA’s possible desire to modify the starting regulations since some teams had made design decisions that make it more difficult for their cars to make a good start.
