The most awaited moment has finally arrived for Sami Pajari: after his debut in the WRC in 2019, the Finnish Toyota driver has achieved his first world championship victory, managing to do so at the Rally Estonia. In a weekend where #5 dominated with repeated wins in the special stages, Pajari did not repeat himself in today’s Super Sunday, but managing the lead over Oliver Solberg allowed him to maintain the leadership without taking any risks, thus celebrating his first WRC win in front of the Estonian crowd.

Super Sunday Report
On a day characterized by only two special stages and overcast skies, with a constant risk of rain, the start of Super Sunday did not particularly favor Sami Pajari; the Estonian rally dominator actually arrived in second place after pushing to the maximum, but with a gap of just 4 tenths behind Oliver Solberg, leaving the fight wide open ahead of the Power Stage. In this, the Kääriku 2 over a distance of almost 25 km, Toyota’s #5 did not push excessively on the accelerator to get the maximum points in the standings, with Solberg repeating this time ahead of Evans and Pajari himself. An unforgettable weekend for the Finn, winning in WRC for the first time right ahead of Solberg, who was also on the top step of the podium last year in Estonia. Good performances also at Hyundai, with Adrien Fourmaux surpassing his teammate Thierry Neuville in the battle for 3rd place, with reigning champion Sébastien Ogier in fifth position ahead of points leader Elfyn Evans, who retains the provisional lead. Enthusiasm for the home crowd also for Robert Virves’ victory, his second consecutive win in WRC2 with Skoda.

Next appointment
Having archived one of the fastest and most difficult rallies of the season, the WRC will remain in Northern Europe for the last time this championship between July and August. Specifically, from July 30 to August 2, the drivers will stop in Finland, the beating heart of rallying and home of great champions.
