Russell to Miami
Formula 1 is recharging its batteries, it’s appropriate to say, in view of its return to the track scheduled for early May. For George Russell it’s an opportunity to put the frustrating Suzuka race behind him, which saw him finish fourth after a series of unfortunate events.

In Japan, #63 lost the lead of the World Championship, ceding it to teammate Kimi Antonelli. Russell has evidently understood that he can no longer underestimate the 2006-born driver and feels ready for the Miami weekend, one of the first tracks where the Bolognese driver had showcased his talent, securing pole position in the 2025 Sprint.
Russell’s words
“I feel great heading into Miami. For Mercedes, it’s been an extraordinary start to 2026, and I’ve started really well. Suzuka was a challenging race, but the season is very long and we have a great package available: that’s the most important thing,” said the Briton.

“I feel confident, this break was a good way to rest, and I’m ready to go again,” he added. “Miami, then, I really like: it’s a fast and flowing track, which offers good overtaking opportunities. Let’s see how the weather will be: in past years, thunderstorms narrowly missed the track. It’s a factor that can influence things.”
