Buemi and Red Bull
Four-time WEC world champion with Toyota in the Hypercar category (in which he is still involved today with the same team) and winner of the Formula E title in 2015/2016, Sébastien Buemi competed in a total of three Formula 1 seasons with the then Toro Rosso team, now known as Racing Bulls. It can therefore be said that the Swiss driver has had a respectable career in the world of motorsport, with the 37-year-old also being a Red Bull test driver on the simulator.

The new regulations
Regarding the Milton Keynes team, which is experiencing a moment of crisis in this early phase of the season, Buemi focused on the team’s first tests based on the technical regulations introduced this year in F1: “The situation is the same for everyone. I believe saving energy is right, but in qualifying it’s overdone. In Melbourne we already achieved a great result when Isack Hajar qualified on the second row, and the same goes for Max Verstappen’s comeback in the race – Speedweek.com reported during the Imola 6 Hours weekend – Shanghai and Suzuka were more difficult.”

Red Bull not to be underestimated
In addition, Buemi highlighted Red Bull’s work, which is not to be underestimated: “It is often forgotten that the team built the engine from scratch. It’s an incredible achievement. Who else has built a complex engine from scratch and won immediately? Of course, everyone is used to seeing Max always at the front. But he, like the team, needs time. I wouldn’t write Red Bull off yet.”
