Alex Marquez partially managed to avoid the leader’s bike which suddenly stalled on the straight at full acceleration. The Gresini rider ended up in the runoff area and suffered a frightening crash that fortunately did not have serious consequences.
“After two red flags, a third start could have been avoided – added Acosta who finished the GP in the gravel at the last corner after the bump from Ai Ogura – I understand that the show is important, but it’s us riders who put on the show.” On the occasion of the second start, Johann Zarco was also injured at the end of another pile-up, this time in Curve-1.
