Nissan, operating profit improves along with estimates

Nissan today announced a revision of its financial forecasts for the full fiscal year 2025, which ended on March 31 of this year. The update represents an improvement compared to the estimates communicated on February 12 and particularly concerns operating profitability, with a significant shift from a scenario of difficulty to one of returning to profit.

Nissan revises estimates upwards

In detail, the revision concerns the operating profit for fiscal year 2025: the forecast changes from the previous prediction of a loss of 60 billion yen to a positive profit of 50 billion yen. According to the company, the main reasons for the change in outlook include the positive one-off impact from changes in US emissions regulations, benefits related to current cost reduction initiatives, and favorable exchange rate effects.

Operating profit improves

Other economic and financial metrics also show an improvement. Net revenues for fiscal year 2025 are now estimated at 12 trillion yen, supported by a favorable currency environment. Furthermore, net profit is expected to improve, with a reduction in loss from 650 billion yen to 550 billion yen. Regarding liquidity, the automotive business cash flow forecast remains positive in the second half of the fiscal year. An automotive net cash position of over 1 trillion yen is expected by year-end. Nissan will publish its full fiscal year 2025 financial results on May 13, 2026.
