The Honda rider certainly does not lack generosity
Joan Mir is in his fourth season as a Honda HRC rider and continues undeterred not to settle for placements. The 2020 world champion with Suzuki does not hold back, and in Texas two more crashes occurred, bringing the count of races finished prematurely with a slide to four out of six (he only saw the checkered flag at the end of the Sprint in Thailand, finishing in seventh position, and the next day he was betrayed by a tire-related problem when he was headed for an excellent top-5).

In the United States Mir was even in the fight for the top-3 and in the GP he ended up on the ground even before being able to serve the long lap penalty that had been imposed on him for cutting the track. The Spanish rider commented as follows on another weekend without points to his credit, which does not discourage him in the least: “Zero regrets for the crashes – Mir told motogp.com – when you give 150% it can happen. I’m sorry because we showed good potential.”

“I was in a position to go on the attack and I did it – the Honda rider added – evidently we are not yet ready to be consistently in the top-5 without being constantly at the limit, but we will learn from our mistakes.” Behind Mir’s generosity – which, it should be reiterated, has been a constant for the Spaniard even in past seasons – there is certainly no pursuit of a confirmation at Honda, also because there seems to be no room in HRC for either Mir or Marini in 2027. The Spanish rider is close to an agreement with the Trackhouse team where he would reunite with Davide Brivio, with whom he won the title at Suzuki. And if the Aprilia confirms itself as that of 2026 also in 2027, then Mir will not be forced to always give 150%.
