Mercedes-AMG presents the new GT 53 Coupé 4. And it defines it as the high-performance entry door to the new GT range. The specifications are certainly interesting: the car delivers up to 400 kW (544 hp), and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. The 800 Volt battery with directly cooled cylindrical cells combines with all-wheel drive and adaptive suspension. The aerodynamics also deserve a mention: the standard active rear spoiler and optional rear diffuser improve driving stability and efficiency.

Returning to the electric powertrain, two powerful synchronous motors together deliver a system power of 400 kW (544 hp) and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. The electric drive unit with permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle achieves an efficiency of 93% from the battery to the wheel over long distances. An innovative two-speed transmission is offered in combination. The top speed is electronically limited to 230 km/h, but can be increased to 250 km/h with the optional AMG Driver’s Package.
Battery and range
We mentioned the battery. The innovative high-voltage accumulator with a usable capacity of 106 kWh, 800-volt voltage, and directly cooled cylindrical cells guarantees a range exceeding 800 kilometers. Fast DC charging is possible at 800 Volt stations with a charging power of up to 600 kW. In just 10 minutes, over 534 km of range can be recovered. Alternatively, the battery can also be charged at 400 Volts: in this case, the system automatically switches from 800 to 400 mode. The new Mercedes-AMG GT 53 Coupé 4 will be orderable in Italy starting from September.
