Fear and pain
A terrifying flight β the umpteenth of a season that so far has seen him almost more on the ground than on the bike β and that also breaks that last thread that kept him connected to the podiums and victories this year, that of the Sprints. Marc Marquez ended the short race at Le Mans in the gravel after being involved in a crash that made people fear the worst for a few seconds and that still raises great concerns.

A full-fledged highside, very dangerous, which the Spanish #93 tried to contain probably making the situation even worse; Marquez in fact was thrown off the saddle of his GP26 like a tamer from a raging bull, he fell hitting his helmet violently on the ground after doing a somersault in the air and was narrowly missed (fortunately) by his own bike, which after doing several spins in the air seriously risked falling on him.
Moreover β and this could be the most serious and critical aspect β the Ducati champion also suffered some very hard blows on his right leg and foot, both in the attempt to stay on the bike and in the ‘spin’ during the fall. The images of his return to the pits clearly showed how the Spaniard is currently unable to put his right foot on the ground.

A nightmare season so far
Probably, at the moment, Marquez himself was really scared this time by what happened, because after the accident he remained still, crouched in the gravel for several seconds, probably trying to understand if everything was okay in his body already severely battered by years of accidents, falls and surgeries. The reigning world champion was then brought back to the pits by the traditional scooter ride and obviously will have to see the doctors to understand what his actual health conditions are. At this moment it seems very difficult to predict if he will be able to take part in the race tomorrow.

From the point of view of the standings β which today definitely takes a back seat β this umpteenth zero pushes the phenomenon from Cervera even further back in the championship. Never like now does Marquez seem so far from being able to defend his world crown: in nine races held so far β five Sprints and four GPs β Marquez has collected as many as four zeros.
