Starting again with the right spirit
The latest tests carried out at the Buriram circuit have highlighted good progress for Honda ahead of the 2026 season, which will officially start this weekend right on the Thai track. There is an atmosphere of healthy optimism within the Japanese team following the data collected in the tests by both riders, Luca Marini and Joan Mir, aboard the RC213V.

Ever-increasing determination
Speaking of Marini, the #10 already feels determined to take the first steps starting this weekend, which could be a demonstration of Honda’s growth: “It is my third year in the official Honda HRC team and my motivation continues to increase – he stated – everyone at Honda has worked hard, not only during the winter, but also in recent years, and I am determined to reward their efforts this season. We have seen more or less from the tests where we are, but in the heat of a full Grand Prix weekend everything is possible. Maximizing our performance in qualifying will be really important on this track, so this is our first goal. There are just a couple of small pieces we need to put together and I know we can be even stronger than how we finished 2025.”
An interesting 2026
The Spaniard Mir is also very fired up, with the 2020 world champion also highlighting the progress of the Japanese manufacturer thanks to the hard work completed by the team: “Whether it’s your first or eighth season in MotoGP, you’re always excited for the first race! It’s been a long winter of training and from a personal point of view I’m ready to go. Honda has made good progress with the RC213V and we discovered some things during the tests, but it’s important to stay focused and work at our best during this first weekend. Let’s start the season well and build from there, 22 round and 44 races are a lot of laps and anything can happen. I think it will be a very interesting year!”
