Jerez and Honda
A month after the last world championship race, held in the United States, MotoGP will return this weekend to a historic track like Jerez de la Frontera, home of the Spanish Grand Prix. A special event for the MotoGP World Championship, returning to Europe after the first three races between Asia and America, but also for Honda, which boasts the record for victories in the premier class on this track with just over twenty wins.

Ready for the weekend
10 is the race number of Luca Marini, as well as the position held in the general standings by the 28-year-old from Urbino, always in the points in all races held so far and with excellent performances in the United States (5th in the Sprint and 9th in the long race): “The period between races was useful for training, I did several things and I feel really fit for Jerez this weekend – he declared – it will be important to get back on track as soon as possible, as we don’t usually have many breaks like this. Jerez is a circuit that everyone knows very well and I think it will give us a better indication of our level compared to other bikes. As always, getting into Q2 is our first goal for the weekend and then we’ll see what’s possible on Saturday and Sunday.”

The approach doesn’t change
So far, a very complex start to the championship for the 2020 world champion Joan Mir, but the home atmosphere could give the Spaniard the opportunity to regain confidence and demonstrate his qualities on the RC213V: “I can’t wait to see the team again and get back on track after these weeks. Jerez is an ideal circuit to understand many things and I hope we can maintain the same pace shown in the first races. Our approach doesn’t change; I know we can be competitive and I will always continue to give my best to make the most of the bike and the situation. It will also be interesting to see what Monday’s tests have in store for us. An intense weekend to regain rhythm.”
