The umpteenth return of Marquez
After the double operation on foot and shoulder undergone after the Le Mans race, Marc Marquez has already returned to the track at Mugello in less than 20 days to obtain medical clearance and try to keep the world hope alive. It is a very faint flame at the moment, given the competitiveness of Aprilia and the 85 points to recover from Marco Bezzecchi, but in the Spaniard’s mind there is certainly this motivation, otherwise he would not have aimed for such a rapid recovery.

Lorenzo and Marc’s motivations
Interviewed by the Spaniards of Marca, Jorge Lorenzo also spoke about the situation of Marc Marquez: “He is 33 years old and has been incredibly lucky with injuries for a long time. But now he has a lot of injuries behind him and it shows. In his case, he had the physical peak in 2019 and we will not see him like that again, with a perfect body that allows him to ride equally well on both sides. Now he has to compensate and adapt and this favors his rivals. A physically perfect Marquez might not have lost any title, even on the Honda“.
Lorenzo has his own theory about Marquez’s umpteenth comeback: “From what I have seen on Instagram, he lifts weights and handlebars quite well. It looks promising. In recent years when I fell and got hurt, the thought of retirement always crossed my mind. Marc has two personalities, one that tells him to stop and the other to not give up and try to win the 10th title. I find his desire and motivation for that 10th title impressive. He would be presented as the ten-time world champion, the one who surpassed Valentino. Having more titles than Valentino makes a difference and this will influence his decisions”.
