Leclerc, half-empty glass?
After an encouraging Friday, already from FP3 of the Hungarian Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc did not seem brilliant and the feeling was confirmed during qualifying.
Certainly, the third place (with Hamilton’s investigation that could promote him to the front row) is not a bad result, but the Monegasque did not seem so satisfied with his Saturday.
Charles’s disappointment
“I’d say I already understood in Q1 that pole would slip away from me,” Leclerc honestly stated in the press conference, adding: “As soon as I got in the car, the feelings weren’t the best and also the session seemed quite confused.
I fitted two new sets of Softs in Q2 and in Turn 1 and Turn 12 I had significant question marks, so I will have to analyze the data. Perhaps I lost two tenths between the two corners in qualifying and I didn’t find a solution.”

In short, Charles Leclerc’s feeling is one of disappointment: “It was a bit of a shame, but it was purely a driving matter, so I will try to delve deeper and understand what happened.”
And for the race? “The long run was very good, so that’s positive. That said, it’s hard to take for granted what we saw yesterday, because it seems everyone has made a big step forward from yesterday to today. I expect the fight in tomorrow’s race to be much, much tighter.”
