Lewis Hamilton was the best Ferrari driver in the Canadian GP Qualifying, finishing in fifth position. The seven-time world champion was put under investigation by the Stewards for a potential impeding against Pierre Gasly during Q1

The Stewards analyzed the footage, telemetry data and heard the parties involved. Hamilton said that Gasly did not seem to be on a flying lap and the same impression was shared by the Ferrari pit wall.

Gasly and Alpine stated that they did not consider Hamilton’s conduct to be ‘unnecessary impeding’ so the Stewards’ decision was to not penalize Hamilton. Below are the images of what happened.
