Hamilton, problems solved?
At the end of the Miami Sprint, Lewis Hamilton explained that on his Ferrari SF-26 he had experienced problems with the deployment software, an issue that heavily penalized him both in the Sprint Qualifying and in the fast race on Saturday. The Englishman estimated the inconvenience as a loss of about three tenths per lap.
In qualifying, sixth place still had a positive connotation for the seven-time world champion. “The software problem seemed resolved,” Hamilton emphasized to Sky UK, adding: “The car was running much better, so I don’t think we had power issues. It was the best performance of the whole weekend.”

Hamilton’s optimism
Hamilton allowed himself rather positive comments: “We modified the car and I was much, much more satisfied. It seems to me that we have taken a step forward, even if it’s not reflected in my result. But I am optimistic for tomorrow.”
However, a note of concern for Lewis Hamilton came from the progress of rival teams – like McLaren and Red Bull –: “The other teams are doing different things in development and we will have to examine the matter. I know we are pushing to the maximum, but I know there is still a lot to do. I think there is still a lot to gain from the package we currently have. Before this weekend we knew we were 4-5 tenths behind on the straights”.
