MotoGP Silverstone, Qualifying Report
Huge show of strength by Aprilia in the Silverstone Qualifying. The Noale factory monopolizes the front row of the British GP, but – unlike yesterday – Marco Bezzecchi is not among the protagonists. The Romagna rider is betrayed precisely by T4 which had exalted him in Practice: the last sector instead rewards a great Jorge Martin, with his second pole position of the season after Assen.

The MotoGP World Championship leader sets the new track record (1:56.160), thus improving the record set by Bezzecchi in Practice. For the Spaniard, it is an important blow, also considering that yesterday he was half a second behind his teammate. The race pace of the 2024 world champion remains to be seen, also because behind him are Raul Fernandez and Ai Ogura, two who are very scary on pace and who, in the case of #25, have already had clashes with Martin.

Fabio Di Giannantonio opens the second row, again today the only one to prevent an Aprilia clean sweep. The Roman precedes Bezzecchi by only 45 thousandths, who moreover loses the rear wing in the last time attack and therefore cannot attack the pole time at the end.
Too much, in short, the superiority of the RS-GP, especially in the second part of the circuit. The Ducatis keep pace up to all of T2, then the Noale bikes make the difference. The Marquez brothers know something about this, who despite setting red sectors in the first two partials do not go beyond sixth position with Marc and seventh with Alex. For the world champion also a huge risk of highside at Farm.

Third row for Franco Morbidelli (who emerged from Q1 along with an Iker Lecuona still worthy of applause) and Pedro Acosta. Francesco Bagnaia is shockingly eliminated in Q1: certainly the hand hurts, but above all there is a lack of braking feeling with the GP26. He will start 16th in a weekend that is now steeply uphill.
