Reds ready to challenge Mercedes and Verstappen
Ferrari, as is now customary in this 2026 season, after a not very bright Friday, has definitely stepped up on Saturday even though Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton had to settle for the second and third rows.
Leclerc will start fourth, Hamilton fifth, the chaos related to the yellow flag waved in the pit lane for Hadjar’s car stop forced by the FIA delegates probably cost Leclerc a position, but Lando Norris’s penalty compensates for this misunderstanding.
Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur is convinced that the Reds can aim for the very top positions tomorrow in the GP.

“The race will be long and we can come back, we always do better in the race than in qualifying – Vasseur said to Sky – we will see a nice fight between the teams because there are various options in terms of energy deployment strategies. It will be difficult for everyone, but we will see what can happen.”
