The soft top of the new Ferrari Amalfi Spider is the result of a design focused on the uncompromising open‑air experience. The mechanism is lightweight yet robust, with a “Z” folding kinematics that allows full opening in 13,5 seconds even while driving at up to 60 km/h. When folded, the roof reaches a minimum thickness of only 220 mm, thus optimizing packaging efficiency and preserving the bodywork’s volumes and lines.

Fully automatic and made of five-layer acoustic fabric assembled in a sandwich structure, the soft top integrates a large rear window. Not only that: it uses insulating layers with differentiated thicknesses to balance insulation and weight. The result is sound comfort comparable to that of an RHT system, with a high capacity to attenuate road noise and external sounds.

The aesthetic and functional approach of the Design Studio led by Flavio Manzoni is reflected in the soft top as an element that preserves and enhances the formal purity of the Ferrari Amalfi. In this sense, the 2+ spider silhouette maintains proportions and identity both with the roof closed and open. The style language is minimalist and at the service of functionality, with clean surfaces and volumetric plays designed for light. The soft top is offered in four variants of sartorial fabric and two of technical fabric, including Tecnico Ottanio, whose particular weave creates three-dimensional iridescent effects that enrich the roof in every lighting condition.

Technical fabric and more
The technical fabric can extend to the tonneau cover and rear panels, creating a material continuity that visually slims the rear and perceives it as a natural continuation of the roof. The care of the soft top integrates with the car’s daily attitude: space management guarantees a trunk capacity of 255 liters with the roof closed and 172 liters with the roof open, values among the best in the category.
