Di Giannantonio’s words
“It was a bit of a tough day, with many ups and downs. I am obviously happy with the victory, we had a fantastic performance all weekend, but today we were just lucky in front of these dangers. Alex’s crash was frightening, honestly. And knowing that more or less we are all okay makes this a great day for motorcycling, more than my victory,” this was his comment to Sky Sport MotoGP. “After the crash I wasn’t feeling bad, I said ‘Let’s try’. The team helped me to try to restart at best, then I saw I could continue. It’s never easy when you don’t know how the others are doing, in the end the thought is always there. Even though we are rivals, there is great respect among riders. I remember from the accident that I saw Alex on the grass, and then there was an ‘explosion’ of parts, I hid under the bike even though it doesn’t protect that much. I honestly closed my eyes, so I don’t really know what happened, and when the wheel hit me I tried to stay on the bike as best I could, but I couldn’t. We are human, today it went really well for everyone“.

“I am very happy with the race and the preparation. The guys in the box gave me a really incredible bike, which didn’t bring us victory yesterday, and in fact I was a bit annoyed, but which allowed me to win today. I really felt good already this morning, we knew today would be a great opportunity,” he added. “Honestly, when we had to restart with the soft, I had lower expectations, because with the medium I thought I could do more, but we still managed to do a great race with the soft, so it shows that today we were in shape“.
