Heavy double zero
Ducati had a bittersweet weekend in Jerez. On one hand, for the first time in 2026 there was a victory in Sunday’s GP thanks to Alex Marquez, on the other hand, a very heavy double zero came in the GP for the official riders Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia.

“We returned to the top step of the podium thanks to an exceptional Alex Marquez – the usual post-weekend summary by Ducati Corse General Manager Luigi Dall’Igna – we had already shown important signs of recovery in qualifying and in the Sprint race with the double placement of the official bikes for an all-Ducati podium, in a race strongly affected by unpredictable weather. There remains great bitterness for the GP of our riders, we record a really heavy double zero for us.”
“We must improve and continue to work tirelessly to give our riders that little something extra – added Dall’Igna – Monday’s tests were fundamental in this regard. Many aerodynamic innovations were tested, some of which will certainly be used in the next races. Now it is time to analyze the collected data and make the right decisions.”

Marc Marquez, in fact, emphasized that with only one new fairing to homologate available, it might be necessary to wait for the post-Barcelona test before making such an important decision.
