Dacia is preparing to enter the A segment. This was announced by Katrin Adt, the head of the Romanian company, who clearly spoke of a small car with an affordable cost. And that’s not all. Because La Stampa on newsstands this morning also refers to a long-awaited low-cost e-car. “That little electric car that Europe might finally afford”, it reads. And that Dacia seems ready to build.

Dacia prepares a new small electric car
“It depends on the evolution of regulations. But one thing is certain: there will be a place in the market also for e-cars,” Adt said. The goal of the Romanian brand is not to be caught unprepared. A risk that seems out of reach: “We will be ready, always faithful to our DNA of accessibility and real value for the customer. In the past, it was said that Dacia took the best technology that people really wanted. And that is absolutely still the case”.
The Renault galaxy is helpful
Of course, being part of a galaxy like Renault can only be an advantage for Dacia. “Our strength is using the Group’s ‘Lego bricks’ to offer simplicity even in a world that is increasingly electrifying and that sees a race for ever more expensive technology”, Adt admitted. And she concluded: “We instead aim for a diversification of technologies: electric with different performances from those of competitors, but always accessible and without complications”.
