P7 for the Alpine driver
Franco Colapinto in Miami was the protagonist of a great weekend concluded with the best result of his career thanks to the penalty imposed on Charles Leclerc who dropped to eighth position promoting the Argentine to seventh.

The Alpine driver did not have a great start at the lights out, but was very clever in the first corners to recover ground also thanks to the chaos triggered by Verstappen’s spin. During the first lap Colapinto also had a contact with Lewis Hamilton, but unlike the Ferrari SF-26 of the English driver his Alpine had no consequences.

“I am definitely satisfied – said Colapinto – we made the most of everything we could. I felt a bit lonely in eighth position, with the top teams once again too far ahead of us, but despite everything we did a great job as a team in terms of strategy, pit stops and execution. I had a somewhat slow start, so I lost some positions, but then we recovered quite quickly and I basically returned to where I started. We had a small contact with Lewis Hamilton, but luckily we did not suffer excessive damage and we were able to continue. From that moment on, the pace was sustained and we managed everything well.”
