A championship never started
Confirmed again for this season at the wheel of the Cadillac V-Series.R #12, even more so after the victory achieved in the last edition of the 6 Hours of São Paulo, this year’s Hypercar world championship never started for the British Alex Lynn. The 32-year-old, due to severe neck pain, had to raise the white flag even before the start of the championship, with the line-up composed of only two drivers (Norman Nato and Will Stevens) except for the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In these races, Lynn was replaced by Louis Deletraz, but the British driver’s return to the track will happen soon.

At the wheel for the last two races
The official announcement came directly from the team and the driver, who successfully underwent surgery in June. Since then, Lynn has started his recovery plan, aimed at returning for the last two rounds of the championship in Barcelona and Monza: “I can’t wait to get back to racing with the Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA – he commented – I have undergone a long and thorough rehabilitation period and in the coming weeks and months I will prepare myself as best as possible for the race thanks to a combination of physiotherapy, training, testing, and simulator sessions, to be sure to arrive in Barcelona in top form.”

Another substitute in Austin
Meanwhile, for the next round in Austin, Cadillac announced the name of the driver who will once again replace Lynn while waiting for his return. It will be the American Jordan Taylor, three-time IMSA champion: “I am really excited to join the team for COTA (Circuit of the Americas, ed.). I have always been a big fan of the team and it was great to work with them this year at Le Mans as a teammate car. I know Will and Norman well from when they raced with WTR, COTA is a fantastic track and it will be great to return to Austin. I will do my best to contribute to another good result.”
