Leader on and off the track
Leader in the World Championship and also a protagonist in the tests, with the third fastest time overall and above all with many new features brought to the track on his Aprilia RS-GP26 which increasingly represents the new technical reference in MotoGP. Marco Bezzecchi is enjoying what is undoubtedly the best phase of his career, but by now he has learned to keep his feet on the ground and not to get carried away by flights of fancy that risk doing more harm than good.
There’s always room for improvement
“I don’t know if we are the best and we won’t know until the end of the World Championship, so I would stop with this – commented Bezzecchi to Sky Sport MotoGP at the end of the test day – it’s not about doing a different job than when you need to improve, even if obviously you can’t expect to find something that makes you take an incredible step forward as can happen when you are in great difficulty. It’s true that we are generally better off, but this doesn’t mean we shouldn’t improve. We need to find solutions that always give us something more – explained the rider from Rimini – and it doesn’t seem to me that there is any fear on the part of the engineers and Sterlacchini in trying to experiment. It is their duty, as well as mine, to behave this way. Personally, I am always open to trying to adjust my riding and everything else to try to do better“.
