Bezzecchi in Barcelona as leader
Although it did not rain in Le Mans, the “Bugatti” was hit by the Jorge Martin cyclone. Despite starting from the third row, the Spaniard dominated the Sprint thanks to a sensational start and repeated himself in the race thanks to a more calculated GP, set at a constant pace and superior to all the competition. In the two French races, therefore, Marco Bezzecchi had to give in to his teammate: nevertheless, he retains a one-point lead in the standings, and arrives at Montmeló as the World Championship leader.
The one-point lead over Martin, Ducati’s slump period, and the absence of Marc Marquez due to injury suggest that the World Championship will be a two-horse race to be resolved internally in Noale, but the Romagna rider dismisses any world title talk as premature.
Bezzecchi’s words
“We are only at the fifth weekend, it’s useless to have these talks now. It’s clear that it’s important to try to have good consistency of results and to always bring home the maximum, that’s what we’re trying to do every weekend, but I think it’s premature: there are many races and anything can happen, so you have to be calm“, this is his comment to Sky Sport MotoGP.

“Ducati? I see it very strong. At the moment Di Giannantonio and Alex Marquez are very strong, at Le Mans Bagnaia was really fast, without that mistake he could have had a great race“, he added. “And then we can never exclude Marc from the fight: last year he won the world championship in Japan and there were still five weekends to go. Last year he was the absolute dominator, now he won’t be there but he will come back soon and will be hungrier than before“.
