Martin, charged up for Barcelona
Months later, the world has changed for Jorge Martin. Last year his Montmeló weekend was completely anonymous, and it couldn’t have been otherwise in a disastrous season, plagued by continuous injuries.

Now the 2024 world champion arrives at his home track with a renewed spirit and physical condition close to 100%: the double victory at Le Mans, both for the result and the way it was achieved, gave him an extra boost. And the Aprilia rider, backed by an RS-GP26 that has proven very competitive everywhere, no longer wants to stop.
Martin’s words
“Le Mans was incredible, I really enjoyed that moment. For Aprilia to be first, second, and third was truly something surreal, I’m very happy for the team. We’ll see how it goes here, surely confidence and knowledge of the bike grow lap by lap,” this is his comment ahead of Montmeló, a track that in 2025 hasn’t been very kind to the Noale factory. “Yes, it’s perhaps one of the most difficult circuits for us, but I really like the track. Last year Ducati won with Alex Marquez and we know that KTM can also be extremely strong, so we have to be ready to suffer as well“.

Watching him on track, it seems like seeing the hungry Martin who won the World Championship right in Barcelona: “I think since then the mentality has changed a lot, also in how I approach a weekend. As for the riding style, surely my biggest problem in 2025 was braking. But now the feelings I have are really similar to those of 2024, it seems to me I ride more or less the same way. Of course, with Aprilia I have to execute slightly different lines compared to what I was used to in the past. But now I am able to interpret them“. Finally, a thought for Marc Marquez, in the garage recovering from foot and shoulder injuries: “If there is someone who has shown he can hit rock bottom and then come back to the top, it is definitely Marc, so we can’t rule him out of anything. I hope he recovers and can return soon with us“.
