Le Mans Tests, Bezzecchi in Q2
With a trend similar to that observed on other occasions, Aprilia improved over Friday and from one session to another made the decisive move to enter Q2 with three bikes out of four. After an anonymous FP1, finished almost seven tenths behind Luca Marini, the Noale factory raised the bar both with Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin, both very close throughout the day.
The World Championship leader commented on his French Friday, considering himself satisfied with a qualification to Q2 even more difficult than one might have thought given that the entire top-10 is within less than three tenths.
Bezzecchi’s words
“It was tough, here at Le Mans the gaps are always very tight, it really takes very little to go very well or to go badly. The first goal was to get into Q2, and we made it. Clearly I don’t feel perfectly comfortable yet, but I managed to work a bit on my riding during this afternoon’s session and improve a few things: it resulted in a decent time“, this was his comment to Sky Sport MotoGP. “Looking ahead to tomorrow I need to fix my riding a bit, because there were two or three points where – especially in braking – I wasn’t precise enough, and this also affected the proper functioning of the bike. Moreover, it’s definitely necessary to work a bit on the bike’s stability in general with the soft tire“.

On the very tight gaps, Bezzecchi has his theory: “It seems to me that it’s a tough track, but with few possibilities for interpretation. Many corners can be tackled in only one way, this makes everything more competitive, because you can’t express yourself with extravagant lines, so the gaps shrink, plus the track grip is quite good“.
