A weekend uphill
In a weekend where the official KTM team finished the British Grand Prix with both its riders in the top 10, the Silverstone air had negative effects on Tech3, particularly on the future Trackhouse rider: Enea Bastianini.

Out in the race
15th in the Sprint, the Romagna rider ended the race early due to a crash that happened in the early stages of the GP (the third of this championship), which prevented him from overtaking Fermin Aldeguer in the world standings, with the two sharing 12th place: “I tried to overtake in the corner, but I lost the front and fell – he explained – too early in the race, only five laps. I was trying to overtake others, but I was too aggressive. It would have been better to wait, to be honest. The track was a bit slippery; different from the warm-up and it was difficult to get the tires up to temperature. Then it improved, but there was a bit of movement with the front. Aragon is a nice track, but it’s hard to say what can be done.”

Espargaró’s return
The one who brought points to Tech3 with the 13th place was the test rider Pol Espargaró. Called by KTM to replace the injured Maverick Viñales, the Spaniard competed in his first GP this season, as well as his first race ever since last year’s Portuguese GP: “Some points… but it wasn’t easy to stay on the bike. Too much time has passed since the last race! I didn’t want to make mistakes this weekend and I managed, but I was too slow – admitted the 35-year-old, victim of a serious accident in Portugal in 2023 – I believe my confidence will be greater ahead of another race, and I didn’t have to worry about tire wear! These bikes are top level and I simply gained experience for the future, in case I have to race again.”
