The drop of the Soft tire in the Silverstone Sprint was the day’s theme at Ducati. Already on the 6th of the 10 scheduled laps both Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia had raised their respective times to 2 minutes. The collapse of the official team was then very evident in the last two laps, with Marquez turning in 2″02.5 and 2″02.9 and Bagnaia in 2″01.1 and 2″02.5. Out of 20 riders on track, the only one slower than them was Toprak Razgatlioglu from the Pramac Yamaha team.

Bagnaia does not look for excuses
“The official team suffered a lot today. Marc and I were the slowest riders in the last laps. So it is difficult to imagine what to do. I expected a drop in performance, but not at this level,” admitted Bagnaia honestly in statements reported by Motosan, emphasizing: “At the start of the weekend I aimed for the top 10, but with these performances imagining anything better than the top 15 is difficult”. In the Sprint Pecco finished 17th.

A hope could come from Alex Marquez: “He is doing a fantastic job. Fortunately we have him at Ducati, he is very strong and very fast and makes the difference compared to the other Ducatis. I hope we will be able to solve our problem. The lack of grip is due to wear. The right side of the tire was completely worn out, but it is not a tire problem, but our bike that cannot find grip”, concluded Bagnaia.
