A Sachsenring without sparks
The German Grand Prix of Pecco Bagnaia followed the pattern seen throughout the weekend. The Italian Ducati rider finished in sixth place, a full 11 seconds behind his teammate and winner of the German MotoGP round, Marc Marquez.

Bagnaia benefited from the crash of the two Ducati riders Fabio Di Giannantonio and Alex Marquez, but came out defeated in the close duel with Jorge Martin, who finished just 123 thousandths of a second ahead denying him fifth place.

In statements reported by Motorsport Italia, Pecco Bagnaia honestly admitted: “I don’t come to the summer break happy. I know what I could do and we are not doing it. So it bothers me a bit. I give myself a 5.5. We are improving a lot, but we haven’t solved the rear grip problem, which we have had since the first race. Considering the weekend and the huge difficulties we had, a sixth and seventh place are two great results.”

Pecco predicts the world championship
Bagnaia then continued: “At this moment I see Ogura, Marquez and Bezzecchi as favorites. Martin, who has had some difficulties in recent races, has learned to always bring home the result and is scoring points.”
At -65 from Martin, Pecco does not see himself among the championship contenders: “I can’t think about the title. First of all, you have to manage to get close to the podium, then win a race and stay consistently fast. But it’s still a long way and you have to stay calm.”
