A White Pearl in Misano
The Aprilia Racing team wanted to best honor the ‘home’ weekend of Misano and today unveiled to the public the special livery with which Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin will face this afternoon the San Marino and Rimini Riviera GP. A true gem, created by the Noale factory, born from two great inspirations: the Vespa and Gilles Villeneuve.
The livery is inspired by the white suit worn by Gilles Villeneuve in 1981 at the Monaco Grand Prix of Formula 1, a race that the Canadian driver won behind the wheel of the Ferrari. On the sleeve of that suit was indeed the Piaggio Vespa logo, a connection that Aprilia Racing today takes up and reinterprets on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the most iconic vehicle of the Piaggio Group.
The ‘White Pearl’ – this is the name of the livery – thus creates a bridge between the history of Vespa and that of motor racing, two worlds united by a passion for engines. A tribute to 80 years of Vespa and to Gilles Villeneuve, whose talent has left an indelible mark on the imagination of sport and continues today to inspire generations of enthusiasts.

On this occasion, the Aprilia Racing team will also wear a dedicated white uniform, coordinated with the new livery of the RS-GP26. The original suit worn by Gilles Villeneuve in 1981 will also be displayed outside the Aprilia Racing garage throughout the Grand Prix weekend.
