Antonelli on vacation as F1 leader
Kimi Antonelli is living a dream and does not want to wake up: the Bolognese goes on vacation as the F1 World Championship leader in his second season in the Circus. The Mercedes driver is aware that he has made an important step up, not only on the track but also mentally, and does not want to lose sight of reality. First of all, he knows that the championship is long and that the competition is strong. Hungary, where he was very solid, can represent a warning bell, because Lando Norris has returned to victory and McLaren could repeat that powerful growth experienced between 2023 and 2024.

Despite a season full of convincing performances, Antonelli does not believe he can already be compared to drivers of the caliber of Max Verstappen and the same Norris, who accompanied him in the post-Hungaroring press conference.
Antonelli’s words
“I really did not expect to be here at this point in the season. Of course, I am very happy and it is the best way to face the summer break. We have to keep pushing because the second half of the season will be tough, but we will do our best“, this is Antonelli’s comment.

“I don’t like to judge much, but I feel I have done a good first half of the championship. I am doing a great job, but I think there is still a long way and a lot of work to do before reaching the level of Max and Lando“.
After limiting the damage at the Hungaroring, the Mercedes talent wants to continue his maturation process without being distracted by comparisons or the standings. The summer break comes at the perfect time to avoid getting dizzy from the lead, with a 50-point advantage in the standings over Lewis Hamilton.
