The Q2 slide forced Marquez to the tenth position on the grid: starting so far back on a circuit like the “Bugatti”, which certainly does not favor overtaking, is a heavy burden, and #73 experienced this in a Sprint race finished in eighth place.

“A Saturday I complicated for myself with a significant mistake in qualifying. My fast lap was not bad, but on a circuit like Le Mans every hundredth counts and indeed with just a few tenths delay I ended up on the 4th row. The race was difficult, and in the slipstream it’s easy to make line errors. We did our best, scored a couple of points and if tomorrow we manage to make a small step forward in the warm-up we can aim for a good result, rain permitting“, these are Marquez’s words.

Tough race also for Fermin Aldeguer, who climbed from 20th to 14th position, but only due to the large number of crashes: “This morning with used tires it didn’t go badly at all, I was close to Alex’s times. But then with the new tire this year I’m struggling. In the race, partly thanks to us and partly due to some crashes, we made a good comeback. The important thing is that I regained feeling and rhythm; tomorrow we hope for dry conditions, it would be very important to continue the work of this weekend“.
